Heavy EQUIPMENT Operator  

Through this program, the Detroit Training Center provides multiple certifications for operating heavy equipment and powered industrial trucks. As a result, graduates of this program find successful careers on construction and landscaping projects. Lecture portion covers instruction and general background knowledge on equipment.

Hands-on segment gives students the opportunity to drive and operate a variety of equipment including forklift/hi-lo's, skid steers, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, and lifts. Topics covered include OSHA rules and regulations, job-site safety, reading grade levels, identifying soils, machine inspection and maintenance, and job-site layout. Furthermore, job placement assistance is provided to our graduates of this program.

Detroit Training Center is Approved by Michigan State Approving Agency for the training of VA Students and other eligible beneficiaries. CDL-A

The Detroit Training Center offers the best in commercial truck driver training and career development for those looking for opportunities in the transportation industry. Furthermore, we only use modern equipment, experienced instructors, and provide a first-class facility to make your experience professional and enjoyable. In-depth lecture and textbook materials cover general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles (to obtain Temporary Instruction Permit) in addition to safety. The hands-on segment includes straight line backing, off set left or right backing, 90 degree alley docking, coupling of trailers, and the completion of a behind the wheel exam.

Welding Production Worker

The Detroit Training Center has created a 160 hour training program to prepare students with the skills necessary to be eligible to use welding equipment in industries. Students will have both lectured styled teachings coupled with hands on training. This program will provide students with the proper training and certifications to operate equipment related to welding. Students will learn job safety and safety requirements per American Welding Society (AWS) welder qualifications.

Masonry Restoration Training Program

This hands-on training program will provide students with the skills necessary to work on important Masonry Restoration projects in the city of Detroit and beyond. Skills and topics included cover the history of Masonry, tools, equipment and mediums used by Masons, as well as advanced masonry restoration techniques. Students will have the opportunity to learn mortar spreading, furrowing, buttering, brick-laying, and much more.

Diesel Mechanic Training Progrom 

The Detroit Training Center provides this 2-year program for training in the basic fundamentals of diesel mechanic operations. This includes engine tune-up, repair, service, and troubleshooting on medium/heavy duty trucks, among other equipment. Successful students go on to become experts in their desired, specialized, and very lucrative fields. Some students opt to take the 1-year Diesel Technician program. Job placement assistance is provided.
