Through this program, Detroit Training Center provides multiple certifications for operating heavy equipment and powered industrial trucks. As a result, graduates of this program find successful careers on construction and landscaping projects. Lecture portion covers instruction and general background knowledge on equipment. Hands-on segment gives students the opportunity to drive and operate a variety of equipment including forklift/hi-lo's, skid steers, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, and lifts. Topics covered include OSHA rules and regulations, job-site safety, reading grade levels, identifying soils, machine inspection and maintenance, and job-site layout. Furthermore, job placement assistance is provided to our graduates of this program. This program is VA-certified.
